Thank you Here’s your update from the Salvos and the people you help
Beth's story
Having this support changed everything for Beth…
As a result of domestic violence, Beth was living on the street for five months feeling lost and scared. Thankfully, she found the Salvos and kind support like yours helped give her a fresh start.
Beth was in a relationship that turned abusive and violent. One day she was hurt so badly she was bedridden and was put in a neck brace for 12 weeks. After this, Beth found the courage to leave, but she had nowhere to go, so she became homeless.
Beth spent five months on the streets, where she experienced even more violence and hopelessness until she found the Salvos…
“I was very depressed and scared. I felt very lost, and I didn't know what was going to happen to me.”
Thanks to support like yours, we made sure Beth found a supportive caseworker who helped her find somewhere safe to stay. She began to rebuild her life and now she’s studying and entering a new career to become a support worker herself to help more people who have experienced domestic violence.
Thanks to your support During the Christmas Period, we provided…

Why Sonia supports the Salvos
Dancing with the Stars host and longtime Salvos supporter, Sonia Kruger gave our Christmas Appeal her full support.
We need to look after the people within our communities who might be struggling and protect those less fortunate.

Sharing the Joy of Christmas
Thank you to everyone who came together to help families in need at Christmas!
We were overwhelmed with support from the community who came together to organise Christmas gift and food drives across the country.

A gift for Good
We're so grateful for all our donors and honoured friends who support us with a gift in their Will like Moira.
Moira is grateful that she's had abundant love, financial security and safety in her life. She's aware that many in her community aren't so fortunate, and that’s why she supports the Salvos.

Thanks to our amazing community partners!
We’d like to say thank you to all our community partners, and their staff and customers. Thank you for uniting with us last Christmas and bringing hope and new beginnings to thousands of Australians in crisis.
Coming together in the aftermath of Christmas disaster
Fifty years on, we paid tribute to those who tragically died on Christmas Day in the Cyclone Tracy disaster in 1974.
The Salvos were there providing clothing and approximately 25,000 meals for residents who lost everything in the most destructive cyclone ever recorded in Australia.
Thanks to support like yours, these life-saving services have been there ever since and will be ready to provide emergency support again in the future.
The difference you made this Christmas
During this year's Christmas Appeal, we shared the story of Sophie and Taylor who experienced hardship due to family and domestic violence.
When we first met Sophie, she was couch-surfing after escaping domestic violence. She was desperately trying to find somewhere safe for her and Taylor to live and was losing hope. Thanks to support like yours, we found mum and daughter a home in time for Christmas.
Every Christmas, Julia volunteers at her local Salvos corps, sorting Christmas gifts to be distributed to families in need. She’s also assisted by her enthusiastic daughters, Isabelle and Zoe. We simply couldn’t do what we do without our incredible volunteers and supporters.
