Territorial Commander thanks Disaster Appeal corporate supporters
Updated 24 January 2020
“We have been completely overwhelmed by the volume of support – financially and emotionally – by people, not just in Australia, but around the world. To you all, we want to say a very heartfelt ‘thank you’. Thank you for your enormous generosity and trust in The Salvation Army.” - Commissioner Robert Donaldson
The Salvation Army is overwhelmed by the support received from our corporate supporters towards our Disaster Appeal. This commitment, coupled with the generosity of customers and staff, has raised over $43 million in support of bushfire-affected Australians across the country.
All donations, no matter what size, are greatly valued. We will work tirelessly to ensure the funds are spent in the best possible way to give hope where it’s needed most. We’re here for the long haul and with our corporate partners' valued support, we can continue to help those who face the arduous task of recovering and rebuilding.
We appreciate our relationships with corporate supporters and would like to acknowledge the generous and heartfelt support of the following organisations.
Woolworths Group
“We want to do our bit to support communities impacted by this disaster. So we're making a $500,000 donation, on top of our annual $500,000 contribution to The Salvation Army, to get communities back on their feet.” – Brad Banducci, CEO
Westpac Group
“This has been a challenging time for communities affected by the catastrophic bushfires. With the support of our customers and employees, Westpac has raised $1.6m to back the incredible work undertaken by the Salvation Army.” David Lindberg, Chief Executive, Consumer
Chemist Warehouse
“Sadly, Australia is facing one of the most devastating natural disasters in our history, and we as a member of the Australian business community and the community more broadly, wholeheartedly believe we should be doing our bit to help and support where we can.” – Mario Verrocchi, Managing Director
Coca-Cola Australia
"We are proud that The Coca-Cola Foundation has donated $1 million to The Salvation Army in Australia to provide immediate emergency assistance including meals, water and medical supplies to those who need it most.” – Vamsi Mohan Thati, President
Continuing our mission and support
The Salvation Army will continue to support and assist in the recovery and rebuild efforts of all those affected by the bushfires. Countless communities and lives have been affected, but we are determined to help those facing hardship and give hope where it's needed most.
