Recruitment process
We are committed to providing a recruitment process that is fair, equitable and accessible for all. If you have accessibility requirements at any stage of the recruitment process, let our team know: salvoscareers@salvationarmy.org.au
Once you identify an opportunity, select the listing to read the advertisement. If you want to apply, select the ‘Apply’ button at the top left-hand side of the advertisement.
If you have an existing Workday candidate profile with us, you can sign in and apply with your current information. For new applicants, you will need to create an account utilising an email address and password.
Your online application will be reviewed by the relevant recruiting team. They will assess the skills and experience outlined in your application to determine your match for the position.
As part of the recruitment process you may be contacted to conduct a phone screen or complete a video screen. This stage of the process is to allow you to talk more about how your skills and experience match the position advertised.
We invite shortlisted candidates to attend a formal interview. This can be conducted either face to face or via Microsoft Teams with an interview panel. We will ask questions relevant to the role and you will have an opportunity to ask questions too.
After the interview, we may ask you to provide reference details of two work-related managers. We will obtain your consent before commencing reference checking. Referees should be able to comment about your skills and knowledge. Ensure your referees are aware they will be contacted and let them know details of the role.
All applicants prior to commencing with The Salvation Army Australia will be required to undergo a national criminal history check and work eligibility check. An international check may also be required.
Depending on the role applicants may be required to provide a Working with Children Check or Working with Vulnerable Persons Check and relevant qualifications, accreditation or registration.
If you have been successful for a position, you will progress to the final stage of an employment offer:
• A verbal offer will be made by the relevant hiring manager.
• An employment agreement will be issued online via your Workday Candidate Portal.
• This portal allows you to access details of the offer and employment conditions and to accept the agreement.
