Red Shield Appeal Update

19 September 2019

The Red Shield Appeal is the Salvos’ major nationwide fundraising drive and this year culminated with Australia’s biggest door-knock on the weekend of 25 and 26 May.

Throughout May of this year, 40,000 Australians volunteered to collect for the Red Shield Appeal, including Canberra local Alan. Alan has been collecting for the Salvos for 30 years, and in this time has helped raise over $4 million. These amazing volunteers together with the generous Australian community provide much needed funding to ensure the Salvos can continue to provide critical support services to thousands of people every day.

As well as thousands of volunteers hitting the streets to raise funds, supporters, business leaders and community representatives across the country attended Red Shield Appeal launch events where they heard from those whose lives have been transformed by Salvos care and support, and helped to raise vital funds.

We are so thankful to you, and the broader Australian community for supporting the Red Shield Appeal.

We simply couldn’t help so many people without you.
