Matt's Freedom Story
28 April 2013
My name is Matthew, I entered The Salvation Army Bridge Program on the 14th May 2012 through a court diversion program.
I was required to enter the program and stay for 3 months; however I started to see the benefits of a life clean and sober, also a life with a conscious contact with God.
Two months after I started in the Recovery Centre I began to rebuild relationships with my family which included my two sons who I hadn’t had regular contact with for three years and my mum and dad who I also hadn’t had contact with for some time.
My court requirements finished on the 14th August 2012, but after the three months I had spent in the Recovery Centre I decided to stay on and complete the full Bridge Program.
I graduated from the program on the 14th March 2013.
I currently have care of my children every second week end and enjoy spending time with my mum and dad.
I attend chapel twice a week and love having God in my life. None of these things would have been possible without the court diversion or the Bridge Programs.
