Refurbished Ingle Farm Centre in South Australia opens its doors

On Saturday 3rd August over 300 people gathered at The Salvation Army Ingle Farm Centre in South Australia as the doors of its new and refurbished expanded facilities were officially opened.

The Hon Jack Snelling represented Premier Jay Weatherill and the South Australian State Government at the event. Also in attendance were the Opposition Leader Steven Marshall MP and Tony Zappia MP and many other dignitaries.

From The Salvation Army Centre at Ingle Farm a host of services and programmes have developed over the years into a flagship of Salvation Army service to the community. The Ingle Farm Centre is known within The Salvation Army and to community and Government as a model of achievement with young people in particular.

Ingle Farm also provides a wide range of services and programmes assisting youth, young mums, families in desperate need, seniors and any who need that strengthening hand in times of crisis.

The Ingle Farm Centre has been overflowing with people in need and those who support them.

Majors Paul & Wendy Hateley, Officers in Charge of The Salvation Army Ingle Farm said "the redevelopment of the Centre will make room for all, improve efficiency of service and increase The Salvation Army’s capacity to serve the community.”

The social programmes conducted at Ingle Farm each year help thousands of people in need or in crisis. The Salvation Army has responded to the increasing needs of the community over the years placing great pressure on the buildings, necessitating a significant expansion of the facilities.
