ACNC here to stay

4 March 2016

Commissioner Floyd Tidd, Territorial Commander for The Salvation Army Australia Southern Territory, welcomed today’s announcement from Ministers Christian Porter and Kelly O’Dwyer that the Federal Government will support the continuation of the Australian Charities and Not-for-profit Commission (ACNC).

Commissioner Tidd said:

"The announcement ends a period of uncertainty and will enable charitable organisations to move forward, confident that there will be a mechanism to regulate and support the sector.
The Salvation Army expects that the role of the ACNC in promoting efficiency and providing support to the sector will enhance our mission to support the most vulnerable members of the community".
