A magic Christmas for the Salvos

23 December 2015

Magic Hand Carwash, 3AW and the Salvo’s raise funds for those in need this Christmas

Magic Hand Carwash, Australia’s number 1 car wash (IBIS, 2014), have joined forces with The Salvation Army and 3AW this December for a national campaign which has raised $18,622 for The Salvation Army’s annual Christmas Appeal.

From Friday December 18th through to Sunday December 20th , Magic Hand Carwash donated $2 from every wash and gift card sold across its network of 43 stores to The Salvation Army’s Christmas Appeal.

Denis Walter and the crew at 3AW kicked off the campaign with a live broadcast of the show, Afternoons on 3AW from 12 noon to 3pm from their portable studio on site at Magic Hand Carwash Kew. The three hour broadcast featured on-site guests including media personality Geoff ‘Coxy’ Cox, actress Christie Whelan-Browne, television presenter Jo Hall, comedians George Kapiniaris and Tony Moclair (AKA Guido Hatzis) and Santa.

The event, which marked Denis Walter’s final radio show for 2015, also included live entertainment from The Salvation Army Band who performed Christmas Carols on the Magic Hand Carwash Café deck to an audience of customers, staff and sponsors.

Magic Hand Carwash Kew franchise owner, Daniel Harrison, states ‘we are very proud to be raising funds for such a great cause and doing so through one of the most highly respected charity organisations in Australia’.

The Salvation Army Christmas Appeal initiative comes after a Nepal charity Fundraiser which also took place at Magic Hand Carwash in Kew store earlier this month which raised just over $2,000 in funds to help rebuild a school in Nepal.
