Salvo helps the sick after the Indonesian Tsunami and Earthquake

The Salvation Army Australia is responding to Indonesia's earthquake and tsunami

Following the 7.7-magnitude earthquake and subsequent tsunami which caused massive damage across Central Sulawesi, we have been called to mobilise and assist in Indonesia's recovery.

The Salvation Army Indonesia has a substantial presence in the region, including schools and hospitals, but has also sustained serious damage. Our Woodward Hospital in Palu has been damaged but is thankfully still functional and providing vital emergency assistance to survivors. Necessary repairs are being carried out to ensure operating theatres are functioning and patients can be cared for indoors, rather than in tents. Woodward is even more important today because the main city hospital has collapsed

We are asking for your help to get supplies to those affected. Fresh water, food survival kits, medical supplies and shelter are urgently required. Transporting supplies throughout the city and to remote areas is also an immediate need.
