Review of past claims

The Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse held two public hearings into The Salvation Army, Australia Eastern Territory (TSA AUE) in January 2014 and March 2014, known as Case Studies 5 & 10. TSA AUE covers circumstances occurring within New South Wales, Queensland and the Australia Capital Territory.

In evidence before the Royal Commission, TSA AUE confirmed its commitment to review amounts previously paid to survivors who had received redress from TSA AUE. The purpose of that commitment was to ensure that all survivors who had received redress from TSA AUE had their cases considered against the same standards for payments to ensure equity and fairness amongst survivors, notwithstanding the point in time that their cases were considered.

If you have settled a claim with The Salvation Army Australia Eastern Territory at any time after 1990 and this claim has not already been reviewed since January 2014 as a result of Case Study 5 or Case Study 10, please contact the Centre for Restoration on (02) 9466 3063 or email us centreforrestoration@aue.salvationarmy.org to enquire about a review of your claim. We will respond to your query in a timely and sensitive way.
